Alles, was zu einer Erhöhung des intraabdominellen Drucks führt, kann eine Hernie verursachen.  Zu den Hauptrisikofaktoren zählen:9

  • Hernien in der Familie
  • Männliches Geschlecht
  • Fettleibigkeit
  • Schwangerschaft
  • Heben schwerer Lasten, Husten, körperliche Anstrengung
  • Mukoviszidose und chronische Lungeninfektionen
  • Vorherige Bauchoperationen
  • Kollagenkrankheiten10
  • Rauchen10
